Hai

I have a somewhat rare-strat: an american traditional (instead of an american standard)
See below for information.

Now i want to change the colour of the pick guard etc from white to black.

The problem is that i cannot find black pickup covers for this rare strat.
What i need is black pickup covers for these 'ceramic pickups'. I have ordered several black pickup covers but they do not fit because they are all made for the standard alnico pickups (the holes on the ceramic pickups are closer to each other).

Does someone know how to get hold of (black) pickup covers for the ceramic pickups?

thanx in advance

information:
Fender American Traditional Strat was manufactured from 1998 for only a quite short time to replace MIM Fender Traditional Strat series from 1996 to 1997. It has 21 Vintage Style Frets, comes with 1 volume, 2 tone knobs, 5-way selector, SSS ceramic pickups.

Your best bet would be the non-drilled pickup covers and drill them yourself. Another option would be to try a set of squier covers.

Hi rpschade: pickup covers are made to a few slightly different dimensions as regards the pole spacing and the height of the bobbins. Modern standard spec for Strats is a pickup with poles measuring 52 mm from centre to centre of the outer E string poles. But I have a feeling you are looking for ones that measure 50 mm instead. There are plenty of sellers out there stocking the part you need, or, if you can't find them, let us know which side of the Atlantic you are and we'll point you at a seller.

Cheers - C

PS: I think TubesteakWillie's suggestion of Squier covers might be a good one, but I can't say with certainty. Measuring the spacing of your pickup poles is the way to be sure.

@ceri

Thanx man, finally some help (after all this time)! You are correct.
the ones that i need are indeed 50mm from center of each e-pole.
the ones that i bought are 52mm.
I live in the netherlands (europe). Do you know where can find these covers?
And what are they called?
thanks again

Haha - well, I came as quick as I could!

Netherlands? So, if you are happy to shop online from the UK then look no further than this page:

http://www.axesrus.co.uk/Single-Coils-Covers-s/1863.htm

Just be sure to select "3 x 50 mm" from the drop-down menu for whichever set you choose. I've bought from those people many times and find them friendly and reliable.

Alternatively, I'm sure I've seen what you need on Thomann.de . I can't find exactly the right page at this second, but I'm sure it's there.

Any problems, come back to us and I'll find some more suggestions for you.

Cheers - C
