After reading through some of the current threads on this topic, I thought I'd take a closer look at my 1975 Strat to see what I could notice...

From the top (see pix), it looks like a regulation cast bridge with no letters stamped on the top of the slides. I didn't take the thing apart to see what numbers may be lurking on the bottom...

I took a look at the bottom of the trem block and found a bit of a mystery...see pix...

Not the usual MIJ with "STC-B" that would be found on a standard MIJ Strat from the 80s...and this was bought many years before then...

I've already checked with Rob Schwartz and he and the boys in the shop didn't know of any US built Strat with this kind of bridge. For the record, I bought it new from an authorized dealer and every other bit of it has all the right markings...I haven't taken the back cover off in a long, long while...and probably never really gave it a thought if I noticed it decades ago when it was newer.

So...do any of you out there have an imported trem block in your mid-70s Strat?

???

I have a 1972 Strat that I bought new back in the day. It does NOT say made in Japan at the bottom of the bridge or anywhere else.

I recall seeing, "Made in Japan" on my 79's black either.
