I wanted to change the neck on my strat to a reverse headstock, but what's the difference between a lefty headstock and a reverse righty headstock. I would assume the stickers would be right side up, but Warmoth headstocks are blank as far as i can tell.

Of course, you have to reset the nut. The string lengths will be different on the reversed headstock.

I never took the nut into account. Thanks.

Hello fender0426: this is what the headstock looks like on a left handed Strat:

Obviously most - but not all - left handed players run the strings in the opposite direction to right handers. So, as mentioned, a right hander would have to swap in a right handed nut. Not difficult.

Warmoth make necks under licence and do not put Fender logos on the headstock.

Cheers - C

When Fender does a reverse headstock they put the logo script on in a readable fashion. It really doesn't fit the design of the headstock. I prefer the above and would have it like that on the FSR Forum Lounge Guitar design concept which was submitted on that thread, and if I ordered a reversed headstock on a Custom Shop project.

Well this way never made sense to me. IMHO, if the headstock is upsidedown, so should the logo. It's doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that it was a Fender. Besides...this was on the Hendrix guitar and never made sense in that the guitar's body was not reversed, just the neck, whereas Hendrix played a righthanded guitar upsidedown.

For reference: you can see what a blank reverse headstock looks like here on my home-built strat with a reverse headstock neck from Warmoth. While the image isn't very close up, you can still compare it to my Fender Voodoo strats with the factory decals installed right side up as they all came.

What Fender should have done with that model is reversed the body too, but that would have meant doing a run of left-handed bodies which, costing out, probably was higher. I'm still down on the look of the logo on those Voodod Strats.
