Hi Guys,

I like a very high action on my strats...my question is how high or low can action be set or is it pure personal preference, also i know tone from the pups is affected by action so is it best to adjust pickup height to tone from your amp?

My action on my strat is set up to 5/64ths..im thinking of going to 6/64ths..is that ok??

Any thoughts would be cool...

Hi petefender, and welcome to the forum.

There are of course practical limitations, but essentially the action of a Strat is a matter of personal choice.
The specs in the Stratocaster Setup Guide are merely a starting point.

I would suggest you check the relief first, then regulate the action, then the intonation, and then adjust the height of the pups to get the best tone.
