I don't know if is true , but IMO most Fender stratocaster player prefer the "original" Strat with single coils. It is history and good tone to

All of my strats have bridge humbuckers. I can't stand the 70's headstock, but that's just me.

Some just don't like the tone in a Strat body. I have an HSS American and enjoy the difference in tone from the SSS models.

I suppose the distinct Strat sound comes from the original SSS configuration.
I'll bet that purists out there would balk at anything else.
I have an SSS, HSS, HSH, and HH and love 'em all for all their different sonic personalities.
By the way, that's a sweet HSS blackout you got there, looks just like mine.

But nothing provides the sweet strat quack like a good SSS.
And that's what a lot of strat-players buy 'em for.
(and then we can get into Texas Specials, Vintage Noiseless, and all that too).
