So i'm looking at a trade my LP studio faded with a guy who has got a classic player 50s shoreline gold with Dave Gilmour EMGs.

I'm eager to try out the combo, but for re-sale purposes...

Anyone think this is a desirable combo of guitar/pickup? (i.e. would i have trouble re-selling)
Any clue what it would go for? (seller says the guitar is mint).

It sounds like it could be a great player, and I'm more interested in it than my LP. But, in all honesty, I'm not too fond of the idea of playing a glittery-ish gold strat. Just wondering what my future options might be if I go through with the trade. Thanks!

Sounds like a fair trade to me. Thats a nice strat. The DG-20,s are good sounding pickup and sell for about 150 used for the set. So its about a 600 dollar guitar. Shoreline gold looks awsome also.

The Shoreline Gold color isn't a bright, "in your face" gold so I wouldn't worry about the "glitteryish" thing... I'd say its actually kinda subtle and vintage-looking..Here's mine as an example (I replaced the single-ply white pickguard with a four-ply tortoise shell one)..

Fair trade, I'm not a fan of active pu's however.

Assuming that the guitar has the EMG DG-20 prewired pickguard installed in it, or at least 3 EMG SA's, and the EXG and SPC pots installed on the stock pickguard, I found this to be a great system. You have to assume that selling it at some future date will be to buyer who has the same interest you have. Buy this guitar with the intention of loving it and keeping it for the long term. What it is likely to bring in the future is hard to predict.
