I was looking at a guitar on craigslist in my area and contacted the owner for the serial number. The number and 60th anniv sticker are on the back of the headstock for an american strat. One thing i did notice in the pics though is that the bridge is the older version that is still used on mexican made standards. My question is did Fender use the older model bridges on their american made 60ths? or could this be a american neck on a random mexican body?
Thanks for any input.

Firsty, I think they were only available in a silver color - what color is the strat? I suppose the necks could have been swapped out. Concerning the bridge, did you google to find more info on this model?

Yeah i tried googling but could not find any american made 60ths with the old bridge. I came across quite a few silver mexican made ones and most the american made were tobacco sunburst finishes. This particular guitar has a flat black ceullose finish. Also the headstock is oversized. I couldnt find any pics or information on 60ths with that either. He is asking 550.00 for the guitar and i didnt know if it was worth the money.

Hello Ntac76,

Sounds like its a Highway One,
which is an American Stratocaster,
with nitro-cellulose finish and big head.
All of the Fenders made in 06 have
that little round sticker on the back
of the headstock. I'm pretty sure.

Cheers.

PS.- 60th diamond anniversary also available
wee tiney banner on headstock front with a
real{?}diamond, comes with silver space age
G&G case. About a grand for one of these.

Thanks for everyones help on this. It does look like its a highway 1. I just found another that had the same components including headstock on ebay. So i guess my next question, is it worth 550.00 bucks used? Also i should mention he had seymour duncan vintage rails installed for all three pickups. I have owned two strats in the past both american made but never bought a highway 1 series.

Hello Ntac76,

Those highway guitars are great.
Nice jumbo frets and a real comfortable neck,
Pickups---I like em, but many replace them.
Around these parts you can buy a new one
for $650--700 they come with a gigbag.

Cheers.
