Based on prior issuances of Tribute Series instruments.....I would expect to be looking at a 25K price point. That will either curb your enthusiasm or be of no consequence. For your sake. I hope the latter is true. I would not expect to see a "standard series' Gilmore Black Strat offered.

I'm a huge Gilmour fan, but I will not pay 25K for a strat. Have you checked out EMG's website. They have a pickguard loaded with pickups that is suppose to give you Gilmour's signature tone.

If you research my previous posts you will find a lengthy discussion on that product.

Looking at the David Glimour website and blog - here is a quote from November of 2007:

Quote:
Will the Gilmour Strat become a staple of Fender's, i.e. like the Clapton and S.R.V. models have? (Randall Yeager)
- That is the plan. It is not meant to be a limited edition. David has insisted that it is a really good replica in terms of its sound, set-up, playability and looks - and that it should be affordable. He will not let Fender make a limited edition, to be purchased and put away by a few who can afford it as an investment.

.....and 'limited edition' generally means high on the do-re-mi.

Why not roll your own? I saw where you can buy the electronics already prewired on a pickguardv for about $300
