I've had a new American Standard neck for at least 6 weeks and I just got a bridge because I had trouble finding the correct one. I set the guitar up and found a buzz on 3rd string on 8th fret. The action is high enough so nothing else on the neck buzzes and the 3rd string came out just a little higher than the other strings.
I looked at the neck and the left side (looking from 1st to 22nd frets) is bowed just a little bit downwards between the 3rd and 11th frets. At the most 1/64". The right side of neck is straight. Can I fix this bow on the left side with the truss rod?
I can't really return the neck since I've had it a while and it is a beautiful neck and maple fingerboard.

If you're saying the neck is twisted... no, truss rod adjustment won't help. If the neck is simply bowed back or forward (evenly), then yes, truss rod adjustments will help.

This is my theory, whether or not it applies to a 100% maple neck, I don't know.

Sometimes it might look like the bass side is bowed just a tad more than the treble side. This can be normal sometimes, being that the bass side is at a little more tension than the treble. Different factors play a role in this, like temperature, moisture etc.. You could possibly look at it one day and it'll be straight as an arrow, then another day it's got some twist (barely noticeable though).

I wouldn't worry about it. If you just can see it, then it's normal, but if it's very obvious it sounds like your neck is warped (trash, unless you can stand to play on it, hehe). I've noticed mine do the same thing before and then later on it's gone.

A pic would be a lot of help.

I can tell you one thing, you should never adjust the neck to fix an action problem.

The treble side looks like it is bowed down a little. I read through the Fender instructions holding the 1st string down at 1st and last frets then measuring the distance between the 8th fret and 1st string. It's supposed to be .010" for a 9.5" radius neck. I have to measure it tomorrow but I think it could be around 1/16" and the same goes for the 6th string.
I have the action as high as I want it and I still have some small buzzes here and there. Neck is brand new and I haven't had poor humidity in my place.
