I bought an allparts pickguard for my strat and it doesn't fit so where can I get a pg that will fit on my MIM deluxe players?

Why doesn't it fit? Screw holes? Was it cut wrong? Pickup arrangement?

Just curious. I've had some problems with allparts before. Personally I find some of their stuff to be pure junk.

Hello All,

I won't mention the supplier name,but
I'm also sitting on bum pickguard.
Screw holes would not line up and
pickup cutouts are not really correct.

Makes one heck of a bookmark.

Cheers.

I have had problems with www.Pickguards.com (WD Music Products) on a couple of occasions, however, they have always made it right.

The pickguard is complete junk, not only do none of the screw holes fit but the slots for the neck and trem are too small to fit around them.

Hi: Pickguards on Squiers are deliberately made different from Fender ones (screw holes, etc) to make it hard to upgrade a cheap guitar into a better one. They want you to go buy a new US model - obviously! Which is why you can't buy a genuine Fender neck, either.

So I presume the same may be true for MIM ones.

If so, WD Music has a solution. You do a very accurate full size drawing of your old pickguard by drawing round it with a sharp pencil onto a large piece of paper. Include all the screw holes, switch slot, pot holes and p-up positions. Then you send it to WD, they scan it into their CNC routing machine and cut you a new one in the material of your choice.

Details on their website.

I have used this service and the results were absolutely perfect. Of course, a custom cut guard costs significantly more than an off-the-shelf one; natch. But if you don't want to make one yourself it may be the only solution.

Cheers.

I tried to take the bum pickguard back to the store and the guy said that the company makes the pickguard as a blank to fit any strat shaped guitar. Now is this true with www.pickguards.com or will they fit a MIM body perfectly? Would a fender replacement pickguard fit a MIM body perfectly?

No, I have a MIM Strat and never had a problem upgrading to MIA parts. And geez if your complaining about inability to upgrad a squire, i mean come on it's a squire.

No one's complaining. Just trying to give the gentleman a useful answer to his reasonable question.

I tried to take it back to the store I bought it from and the guy said that the company makes it to "fit" any strat style guitar and that I would have to drill new holes in the body to make it fit. So I'm out 25.00 and I won't buy anything from there again unless I am guaranteed it will work how I want.
