a gibson themed strat, a strat with the binding maybe a 3 tone sunburst with cream binding on the headstock(headstock would need to be burst of course) and a single cream pinstripe on the side of the body all around ,anyone else have ideas for designs?

I'd like to see more official Fender aftermarket parts for customizing the guitars we already have. Not just pickups but hardware so real Fender parts like tuners, etc can replaced with other real Fender parts without having to spend a fortune on 'vintage' stuff off e-bay etc.

i agree... there really doesn't seem to be much in the line of first party aftermarket parts out there for guitars in general. I think customization is something that people could relaly get into with the designs of their guitars.

I think the VG Strat is a step in the right direction. Whether the old school guitarists like it or not, digital IS the way of the future. Most electric guitars are essentially running on ancient technology, and I think it's time the technology advanced.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Strat, but I think a digital guitar from Fender would be the next big thing. Fender's already got the history, presence, and know-how, and I think the VG Strat is just a glimpse of what Fender can do in the future. Fender's already got the right idea with the VG keeping the same standard electronics in addition to the new tech.

I don't know, this isn't exactly about improving the guitar, but maybe in addition to the allen wrenches the guitar comes with include a ruler graduated in 64ths of an inch to facillitate setup and adjustments.

I have seen after-market semi-hollow strat bodies and they look pretty cool.
