Post subject: my tremolo

hello
i'm very new with fender and yesterday i bought a 79 stratocaster
now 'i noticed that the tremolo i have is not with the fender stamp,however, is have weirg 6 digit numbers behind the tremolo

anyone knows what is it

You've got one from the years when the bridge and its parts were predominantly made out of something CBS Fender called, "mazac". Essentially, it's a cheap, inferior pot metal CBS Fender used from 1971 until they crashed and burned in the early 1980s. That 6 digit number you refer to is their part number for that piece.

Incidentally, your English is fine.

thanks alot for that information

so what do you guys suggest:replace the tremolo with somthing better or to leave it authentic and original?
