They should offer at least one American model with a floyd rose.
I know they bought Jackson and Charvel and stopped offering a floyd strat.
When you call and talk to them about it the first thing they will say is have you checked out our Jackson and Charvel lines?
A Jackson or a Charvel is not a Fender Stratocaster.
Right now we have to buy a strat and install a floyd or get a Custom Shop built.
It would be nice to see a Deluxe Stratocaster wilth the floyd option.
The American Classic Floyd Rose was very cool but now we sort of got sent back to the early days of having one installed again.

There needs to be the body recession for pull back too

I suspect the Floyd Rose Classic was dropped due to low sales, as was the locking trem option on the American Deluxe HSS models. The Floyd Rose Classic (or whatever they called it after their agreement with Floyd ended) was dropped a year or two before they bought Jackson/Charvel and revived Charvel.

OT - I see you're in KC; I've been here since the first of the year (work downtown but live on the KS side suburbs) - where are the really good guitar dealers here? I've got a GC relatively close and I've been over to Mass Street in Lawrence. Where else should I go?

I'll have to try Bentleys and Big Dudes. I've been in Funky Monkey a couple of times - the first time was in February and they had 5-6 Suhrs and a handful of USA G&Ls; I was back in again in July and all their USA (and even nicer their nicer import) inventory was gone; nothing but entry-level imports.

I just had a schaller or floyd rose II put into my american deluxe it rocks now. Real happy with it. I think probably the most economical way to go would be get an american standard black HSS and have a schaller floyd installed as soon as i get it. They still sell fender white floyd pickguards too.

Until recently your Montego Black axe had the deluxe locking trem installed. I suspect you've had routed the body in order to throw in the Schaller FRT system (with modifications to the neck for the locking nut, I guess).

Yes I did I installed a Schaller and love it so much I want another!
It is serving me much better now but I cant drop tune.
So I need a running mate to go with it for drop tune playing.

From what I see you'll need a Floyd Rose D-Tuna bridge like those found on the EVH Wolfgangs in order to dive bomb in drop D.

That wont work for me for a couple reasons. I have a floating system and its a schaller or floyd rose 2. It has different screws.
I have considered the blacktop floyd rose strat, but am unsure of the quality. I have a Ibanez giger 2 with an original edge installed and dimarzios i would like to sell and get another strat with.

There's no need to change the bridge!

The D-Tuna is a device that was designed to adapt to a double-locking tremolo, such as a Floyd Rose or Floyd Rose-licensed version fine tuner tremolo and allows the player to rapidly drop from E to D tuning. This device has been a standard for Eddie Van Halen's personal and signature series guitars since the early 90's. It's simple to use and it works well.

"It couldn't be easier to install. You remove the string locking screw from the low E-saddle on the bridge and replace it with one of the two D-Tuna locking screws, the spring assembly and the D-Tuna. And that's just about all there is to it." - Edward Van Halen

Made from the highest quality hardened steel. The patented design allows for precise fine-tuning adjustment, is simple to set up, easy to use, and really works!

Since the D-Tuna is compatible with the Schaller FRT and Floyd Rose II trems, you can execute a dive bomb in drop D instantly.

The D-Tuna kit contains:

* 1 EVH D-Tuna Unit
* 2 String lock screws
* 1 Spring
* 1 Fine tuning Allen wrench

Available in black, chrome and gold.

The kit costs $49.95, retailing at $59.95.
