Find a Highway 1. Not that much more than a MIM.

Which is exactly why I play a MIM Deluxe instead of a MIA anything.

Keep saving, the money grows faster than you think. And look in your garage for things you can sell. I sold a lot of fishing gear and added that to what I saved and bought an American made Strat. You can post on Craigslist.com. for free. Today I sold a Jeep Wrangler hard top after it was posted just 2 days.

I don't know, I played a few of those new USA Strat's last Sunday and they were smoking.

OK here ya go....the Jimmy Vaughan strat is technically MIM, HOWEVER..... the electronics are made in USA, the soft V maple neck is the same one that's used on the production EC strat and Amer Dlx V-neck (from what I have researched, please correct me if I am incorrect)..so, just because its assembled in Mehico doesn't take anything away from the package. Let's face it, the Camry is assembled in the USA, but is it an American car? No it isnt. The JV strat is assembled in Mehico, but I would say that its the lowest priced "Amercian" strat out there. And it sounds so freaking good......

i play what sounds good, and I find that MIM strats sound just as good as MIA strats. and they are cheaper, so why would I pay extra?
