Hello Alainlafrance,

Guessing your favorite
I'm gonna say the Hendrix Monterey.

But my favorite of yours is the green
John English Masterbuilt.

Cheers.

Hi Bill,

You're close but my favourite (maybe the most expensive, but not sure) is the Strat /Jaguar, never for sale, never commercialized.Only 5 in the market, 25 all in.
And I'm lucky enough to own her brother amp from Marshall...
A 2004 30 units 40th Anniversary Limited Edition Bluesbreaker "given" by lottery among the ones who could afford it...all metallic parts gold plated and the unit being covered by Jaguar Conolly Leather
So the odds to own both......

This the most elegant and classy guitar I ever had.
Everything is outstanding, even breathing the Connolly made Leather gig bag.
But the John English Emerald Strat is close to it. If you hold it in person it's the perfect guitar-once you get used to an ebony fingerboard on a Strat-.

My '74 Gibson Les Paul is worth a fortune to me. I bought it new and its been around the world with me. I also have a couple of German made Hofner basses and a Gretsch 6120 that are worth a good bit. As far as the $$ amount, that would be subjective and besides none of them are for sale so that really doesn't matter.

Hello Alain,

Yes, you were lucky indeed to obtain
both Jaguar guitar and amp editions.
Very nice, thanks for the photos.

Cheers.

Alain:

Toss that amp and the Monterey Strat in the back seat of a new white Rolls-Royce convertible, drive it down to Monte Carlo, park it in front of the casino and photograph it.

Caption: "You won't be able to part with yours either!"

Understand she said she would never offer that paint design again. She has lovely others available but never again that one. $1500 to have her people refinish one's guitar is a reasonable fee.

As for my favorite....you've got some great guitars man, but that '58....that was my first Stratocaster and I did a lot of great music with it. One of my bandmates was first owner, and I got it 3 years later when he bought a new Jaguar, but I played that guitar often before I owned it. REmember borrowing it one night to do a rock 'n roll show in a local music venue. Gary didn't get to sleep until he had that guitar safely back in his hands.

Lot's of memories for all us tied up in those guitars.

Doc

Just for piece of mind...(and the fact that after becoming a homeowner...I can't afford it anyway!!)...I've kept ALL of my axes, modifications and all, to $1000.00 or less.
I cant see bringing a collectors item Fender custom shop special to some of the shitholes I play at. I'd be worried SICK  !!
I've played some "custom" shop stuff that honestly, aside from collector value, couldn't hold a candle to some of my modified guitars.

I got my EC Strat in 90 or 91; the street price was $1100.00; Last year I got a Giutar Center 60th Anniv, Tele for $1,500.00. I said all that to say this: I bought a Epiphone Dot at the Texas Crossroads Concert in 2004 for $325.00 + 65.00 for a used case (the only one there for sale); 2 tickets to the concert plus airfare for 2 from Seattle to Dallas and back; we stayed at my wife's sister's house; plus food and mad money. So what is my most expensive? Well that depends on how you look at it.
Sure loved seeing/hearing Eric play live!

Most valuable guitar is one of my vintage acoustics, but most valuable instrument is my great grandfather's mandolin from about 1890, no not 1990, 1890.

1,034 dollars for a 60th anniversary standard. That is however a conversion from euros, it was 650 euros which is how much I would expect to pay for a high end mexican strat over here
