Based solely on MSRP price, I think my acoustic Taylor 310-CE retails for like $2100.

However, I own a 1997 Jimi Hendrix Voodoo strat which originally retailed around $1400, and which I picked up used for around that price. I now see people taking advantage of their collector appeal, getting up to $2800 for them on ebay. Mine's signed by John Mayer, so I guess that could add a subjective amount its value considering I saw a squier signed by him go for like 700 bucks. This guitar's monetary value means nothing to me though. It has all the sentimental value in the world and I'll never sell it, even if it meant the difference between me keeping or losing my house.

Hello Alainlafrance,

Guessing your favorite
I'm gonna say the Hendrix Monterey.

But my favorite of yours is the green

My one and only MIM Strat that I got for $360

Soon I am going to be getting a Schecter that costs about twice as much as that

Briddell............THIS IS THE PLACE!!!

Alain: Did you have any activity at either of Christie's Clapton Auctions??
I also wanted to let you know that I have seen "Brownie" on display at the Experience Music Project in Seattle. Owned by Paul Allen of Microsoft fame. I believe the guitar has been withdrawn from view for several years now. The Experience Music Project is a must see for people like us who find themselves out there.

Thanks for the post.

Chet:

I asked alainlafrance to post his website in response to Briddell's question.
No further discussion needed. Let's just sit back an wait for the responses.
If there isn't 500K in there, there isn't a penny.

(BTW: I have a Gibson Les Paul Heritage Custom Shop Classic with a '60's fast neck, tobacco burst quilted maple top and burstbuckers. I know what that guitar listed for and yours is no surprise either. We'll just let the disbelievers go to the respective websites and browse).

Have a good evening.

Briddell: Go back three and log into alain's website. Have your calculator handy and start 'guestimating' at what you're looking at.

Just to get you started.....he own's the SRV, Clapton ,Summers, and Beck Tribute guitars.

You know the numbers on those?

Enjoy!

Gibson Custom Shop 1960 VOS Les Paul. Incredible instrument. Way better than I deserve at my level of ability.

Most expensive?
That would be the Fender American Deluxe HSS Strat, was about 1300$cdn when I bought it.
Thanks to the cdn $ rising in value, If I had bought it a week earlier it would have been closer 1900$cdn :D

I seriously doubt if it has solid gold anything. LP Customs do come with gold plated hardware an have an MSRP of just over 5K, which would probably cost about 3K in stores.

By LP custom i meant that it was made in the Gibson Custom Shop....and trust me on this, I am not making it up

ALL Les Paul Customs are made in the custom shop. But I have never heard of any being made with solid gold anything.

The most I ever paid for a guitar(s) was $1000.00 for a rickenbacker and a gibson es 135. Now I have owned a 1991 Gibson lp Custom That I bought for$900 from a guy I knew who owned a pawn shop, sold it to me right after he got it in. Now this was 8 years ago and yes I know I got this as a steal but $10,000 for a lp custom? There is some merchant somewhere with a huge grin on his face

My 1997 Custom Shop Stratocaster with birdseye maple neck probably is the most expensive guitar I own- even then, I still only paid $1250 for it. I'm not sure what it's worth.

Next is my Gibson ES-335- even then I only paid an even $1000 for it...
