It would have to be this guitar, a 1994 Larrivee OM-10
Followed by the 2001 CS 56 NOS, then the 2004 MIM then my two Stratopartster builds and last butnot least a 2007 Aerodyne Strat...

03 Les Paul Std. about $2,500 and it sits in its case. Since I own a EC Strat, an Andy Summers style tele and other Strats I just have no use for it.

10K for an LP Custom?

My guitars are priceless to me.

Yeah this thing has solid gold humbuckers, tuners, basically whatever could be made gold is gold lol. He also has a Marshall amp worth over 2 grand.............lets just say I like going over to his house :D

I seriously doubt if it has solid gold anything. LP Customs do come with gold plated hardware an have an MSRP of just over 5K, which would probably cost about 3K in stores.

+1 Most LP Customs run between $3,000, to $4,500. And no they don't have solid gold pickups. LOL

I'm with Chet, even my trashcan Dano U1 is Priceless to me. They are the tool I work with.
Gear really isn't measured in dollar value to many musicians. A guitar doesn't have to be expensive to get the job done. It sounds like his friend like to shovel it a bit.

Still in the small case...but a great day just the same. I was suprised at just how good of shape it was in considering the amount of playing time it got.

That guitar was the inspiration for getting my 82 AVRI all those years ago...although it is not my most expensive guitar, it is one of my favorites...but this one is probably the most expensive to date...'89 EC Stratocaster, autographed by the man himself.

I have turned down $5K for it, but I love it too much to sell it...unless the price just gets stupid... then maybe!

My main guitar: 2000 Am. Dlx. Got for $800. Then another $100+ for one of the new Fender TSA locking cases.

The thing I notice a lot is how some guys I know will spend thousands on a guitar, but only five or six hundred bucks on an amp. Someone I know spent 6k on some Gibby Historic LP and runs it through a Blues jr. It sounds like so much is missing. I figure I can usually make a mediocre guitar sound pretty good through a great amp but it usually never works the other way around. I personally know someone who plays cigar box guitars through a Bassman RI and it sounds amazing. That's why I'm not that impressed by expensive guitars unless they're nice acoustics.

My American Strat.....about a grand

However my friend Brian has a Gibson Les Paul Custom (his fam. is rich) that cost around 10 grand

At different times in my life I've owned some expensive guitars. For me expensive means in the $3K range. I didn't like the stress of owning them. I was paranoid about playing them because I didn't want to damage them. I don't need that stress. I'm sure if I was rich I'd own a whole room full of expensive guitars and wouldn't care if I ran one over with the car but for my own life I'm better with $999 American strats or even $500 MIM's.

Nice quality guitars are expensive, I'm not with you on the stress part, a 3 to $5,000 acoustic is obviously not an instrument you would take to a gig where the patrons are drinking and rowdy..
But to a nice venue where your audience is there for the music then an instrument that carries through is priceless....
Finding a professional quality Classical guitar for under $5,000 is just not going to happen .
But it all depends on the kind of music you are playing

If a cigar box guitar works...Then Fine....
