Hello all!

I have a new MIM Strat that is excellent except for one problem that I have not been able to narrow down.

The "G" string has a weird buzz to it (similar to the sound chorus would produce at a low setting), both fretted and open, the noise can also be heard unplugged from a amp. I had checked string height and it is good all the way down the neck, neck bow looks good as well. She stays in tune and intonation is spot on.

Last week I installed a YJM in the neck and middle position and a HS3 in the bridge, oddly enough it was after doing this that the noise started so I was thinking pickups may be too high so I lowered them with no improvement.

It is only the one string this occurs on, all the rest are perfect as is the guitar in general, I am really pleased with the way she sings!

Any help would be appreciated, I am apparently overlooking something.

It is possible that the one string has gone bad. Try putting on new strings.

Now that is the obvious that I didn't consider. I was putting bullets on it, but didn't have another pack and put plain ball end Fenders on it. Thanks for the tip!

The most simple fix is often over looked.
