Accidentally ended up with Schallers for Deluxe model Strat :? My bad. So I'm looking for a Schaller locking tuner that will drop into the Yngwie strat, if such a tuner exists. It's a real pain trying to find info on this.

One of the current tuners (high) has a 1/4 turn play in it so I may as well replace them all. I'm a fan of locking tuners so that's what I'm looking for.

Any feedback is appreciated.

What kind of tuners are on your Malmsteen - they've used 2-3 different kinds over the years. If you have one of the current models they have the 70s-style "F" tuners and as far as I know there are no locking versions of them at all.

You would have to drill different holes mounting holes on the back of the headstock, but you could use the Gotoh locking Kluson-style tuners - they would at least fit the headstock holes without having to drill them out to a larger diameter.

+1

Tone Pro also offers a "Kluson-esque" locking tuner which should be a drop-in fit for the YM Strat's headstock.

Mine is the model prior to the current one. Before they added the bullet truss rod, but same tuners.

Thanks for the info I'll check into the tone pros
