Hello I just joined here, but have spent many many hrs reading the forms and support,, and also many hours on the net trying to find info on these guitars, I have found a few referances on harmony central to these guitars,, is anybody here familuar with them,, they are a Fender/Roland colaboration, and definately not an after thought installed set up, the guitar seems to be a americian standard,, would anybody be able to give me more info on it
the serial number is N573193,, so other than finding out it was made in corona usa ,, thats about it for info,,were thse beta testing for the current ck series,, I guess here are my questions,
- is it just a regular standard
-is it custom shop
-is there any brochures or selling propaganda on these, they must have been special in the day !
-what were they retailing for in the day?
-what are they worth now ?

I do realy understand why people say strats are like women,, somedays they are so loving and the nextday ,,fight you on everything !!

Ty for any help or info on these

ps' I will try to get some pics up,,she is an ebony with a tortous pickguard, 2 point trem, and if you wernt told it was a midi guitar you would almost miss the midi pickup..

Hi explorer62,

The guitar is not a CS, just standard production. These models are now MIM. And it isn't the Strat that is inconsistent/temperamental, people are.

Looks like the GC-1 is $899 new and the G-5 new is $1299.

More info:
http://www.fender.com/features/vguitar

The US made can be found used for about the same price as the new GC-1. IIRC, the VG wasn't very popular and maybe why it is no longer US made. I remember that it started out at around $1400, and the price dropped every year, eventually to under $1000, and then the guitar was dropped altogether. The MIM version was recently introduced.
