Check it out!

Here's what it looked like new with the mint green pickguard and the N3 single coils. These pickups sound great! The S-1 switch gives awesome humbucker-like tones as well. I was very happy with these pickups and if the setup was in a white pearl pickguard I would have probably kept it. The new setup is exactly what I want though, fine-tuned to my playing style. I play in a top 40 cover band. It now has Lindy Fralin Blues Special single coils and a Dimarzio AT-1 humbucker in the bridge. The white pearl pickguard with white single coils and knobs and a black humbucker is reminiscent of a lot of Tom Anderson Drop Top Classic guitars.

That's lovely.

So you got everything working correctly? I've torn my hair out a couple of times trying to get things working and it's such a wonderful feeling when things finally come together.

Yep, I finally got it all working. I put in a lot of hours yesterday and this morning. The main problem I had was I didn't have any alligator clip leads when I first started. I went to the local Radio Shack and picked up a package of 10 and that helped me figure out everything out without soldering. Some folks were pretty hard on me about my "sloppy wiring", but I was just trying to figure out where everything went. Everything looks neat and tidy now. In fact, I'd say it's almost as good as the factory wiring that's on my other pickguard. However, I do have a phase issue with the humbucker and middle pickup. Martian has kindly provided me with a diagram, so I'll fix that issue shortly.

The Fralin pickups are just great. They're better than I expected. The AT-1 is a very balanced, medium output humbucker. It delivers very smooth, tight gain. It's not overly mid heavy or honky like a lot of humbuckers are. When I get the phase issue straightened out I'll see what the coil split sounds like. So far I'm pleased with the results.

Hollis, nice work :!: I like those Fralins, great pickups. My buddy has two guitars loaded with em (a Strat and a Tele) and if I ever change out a set, I will probably go Fralins, they have a nice punch to em!
