I installed the Super 55s in a Strat per directions that came with the PUs.
They just have you remove the wire fron the original switch position and replace it with the one in the new PU. Very easy!
I removed one wire/pick up at a time so as not to miswire it.
The new PUs have two ground wires (split coils) so they are both grounded to the same attachment point on the volume pot.
Neck ohms is about 12.9K
Middle is about 12.9 K
Bridge is about 15.5 K

original PUs were all about 6K
The new neck and middle PU have rail magnets and the bridge PU does not have rail magnets.

My Supper 55 bridge pick up is significantly lower in volume than the other two pickups even after readjusting the PU height multiple ways (up/down).

I am expecting the bridge PU to be higher in volume with no volume knob movement just like the original pick ups. Am I wrong to expect the bridge PU to sound louder or could something be wrong here? What?

Thanks,

I justrealized that this guitar has a double stacked pot for the middle tone control. I think it has it wired to put control on that bridge PU. This is beyond the idea of using the existing tone control across both PUs. It actually has a two pot stack of 50K ohm pots. I am pretty sure this causing my issue.

Now I need to know how to wire the bridge PU in this config so that it takes the double stack into consideration.

Your bridge pickup should be (at least) equal in terms of output to the other two.

The middle stacked pot is exclusively a tone pot and has no bearing on the output of the bridge pickup if this is what you are trying to say.

FWIW, I doubt very strongly this stacked pot is 50K ohms. Even if it was, it would not diminish the volume of the pickup.

Have you taken another ohms reading of the bridge pickup's resistance since you tried wiring it into the circuit? There's one of two causes to your problem here: Either you have somehow wired something incorrectly or the bridge pickup is defective.

Ok..thanks ..

It says 50K on the pot
..
Yes, I have read it since wiring it in. I can disconnect it by pulling the plug and reading it. The PUs caome with a 3 wire plug so you can easily detach and replace future PUs.

All readings are the same as before installation. I have also checked continuity from the PU all the way through to the 5 position switch.

I did notice that the wiring that is on the PU installation drawing is different than what is on the guitar. Wires are running to different locations and it has capacitors that are not on the drawings either.

I'll check with fender to get the stacked pot trawings and see how to wire these PUs in. As you say, I may have a defective PU.
