hard to explain this but
i have two acoustic guitars and usually before practising i warm up my fingers by playing from low e to high g and then bacwards. ( in note forms )
even though both acoustics are different they give of almost the same sound.
yet when i do this with my mim std strat the g string and the a note sounds weird, whether plugged in or not.
any ideas ?
what made me zero in on this is especially when practising c hord, it sounds horrible, where as on the acoustics the c chord sounds clear

Last month you were advised to have a complete set up done on your Strat. Did you?

I would guess that your intonation is probably way off, so you either need to get the guitar professionally set up as previously advised, or do it yourself.

Yea set-ups are not very difficult to do. all you need are some basic tools and a good ear. go on youtube, they have some good how-to's
