Hey everybody. I purchased a guitar with 69 pickups installed and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a reverse wound pickup to swap out the middle 69 with in order to cancel some of the noise and still keep the tone.. Also wondering if shielding makes a substantial difference. Thanks for any advice.

When I shielded my cp 60s, it made a diff, was noticeably
quieter. I know others have experienced with the fat 50s middle
rwrp With good results.

The middle pickup from the Texas Special or Fat '50s set is RW/RP and will do precisely what you want. Bear in mind though, either of those two pickups is audibly hotter than the CS 69 -- your center switch position will result in a louder-than-stock output. Actually, it might sound downright good. Hmm......

HTH and rawk on!

Hmm, a cs69 neck, fat 50s middle and
a Texas special bridge.
I wonder what that combo would
produce tone wise .

That is exactly the set up in my CS 2007 NAMM Ltd Edition 57 Relic Strat and it sounds awesome IMHO. I play thru a 57 Champ reissue, DRRI or a PRRI.
