Post subject: Can't think of a good name for my Strat..

I've had my strat for almost a year now and I still don't have a name for it yet. It's a 2001 American standard, black with aged white pick guard and pickups, maple neck. Any suggestions?

Hi Seanboy. My suggestion is that you pick a name which has meaning for you. The name you choose may refer to a physical attribute of your guitar, a feeling when you play your guitar, your relationship with another person, or anything else but I believe what you name your guitar should mean something to you. ... Anyhow, just my proverbial 2-cents.

I named one of my guitars "Awesome". That way when people ask me how's my guitar playing going, I tell them I'm playing Awesome! I call my Frankencaster "Two Bit Betty". My Telecaster I call "Little Abby" because it's black and my black lab named Abby saw her reflection in it and tried to give it a kiss, too funny!

Naming a guitar is a very personal thing. It should 1 come without thinking too hard anout and 2 mean something to you.

Here are mine:
Blackie (Black on Black Hwy1)
Old Man (50th Anniversary Strat)
T-Bone (Home Built Strat)

how about Tar? or Tarcicle :lol: since black on maple neck looks like tar on a Popsicle stick :mrgreen:

I named my candy red partscaster "marry" ( Bloody marry)
my Olympic white 62 hot rod is named "Gandolf"
and i call my new Carvin "Q" because it means well but is sometimes a pain in the $@! due to the floyd.
