I bought a new American Deluxe Strat last week, but looking at the fender site the guitar should have an S1 switch. Mine does not. Is there a deluxe model without the switch or have I actually got a different model?

I have figured it out. The model I bought is the FSR Stratocaster Special HSS Ash.
Anyway it's a lovely guitar. I tried a number of strats but this one seemed to have hotter pickups.

I bought a Supersonic 22 amp also (18Kg). A great pairing IMO. I got tired lugging the Hot Rod Deville to gigs (30Kg)

Sounds like you've got yourself a great rig. The SS22 is a much better amp than the Hot Rod. Your gonna love it

The HSS Special Strat FSR doesn't feature the S1.

It does have a greasebucket circuit, two Texas Special single coils and a DH-1 humbucker in the bridge.
