Really been digging that Billy-Bo sound was wondering how one of those TV Jones Powertron Humbuckers would sound in a HSS Strat vs the Atomic Humbucker.

Only problem is it would throw off the color scheme, there is only chrome, nickel gold .. no white.

Anyways, the Atomic does sound nice but something tells me there are better pickups

The Atomic humbucker is a horrible little piece of dung!
I have numerous HSS formatted Strats that came stock with the Atomic........I couldn't change them fast enough!!
The pickup is weak with no cajones whatsoever!
Most anything would be an improvement over it!
Just my humble $ .02.......................

I did a huge modification on my 93 American Standard. First I kept the old pickguard intact and bought a pickguard with a humbucker. Boy did that suck. I had a local guy put in a PAF reissue in the bridge and told him to disconnect the other two pickups (the worst sounding single coils I've ever heard). That worked great but I wanted more. As the PAF was in the bridge, the tone control was taken out of the chain.

I've always loved the Filtertron sound and talked to my tech here in Phoenix. He's putting a TV Jones in the neck and a Twang in the middle position then balancing the levels. I pick it up this week and will get back with the results.

I'm a new poster here but a lifelong Fender player.
