Exactly as the subject line says, what can you tell me about my guitar?

Image

I received it as a Christmas gift almost 10 years ago. In that time, it's been maintained, but not played very often. I just didn't get into guitar as much as I thought I would. I'm more of a singer. I know it's was repainted for me in a fine, holographic green.

I know from the serial number (VN405065) that's it's Korean-made from 1994. But I can't find much information on this guitar. As you can see, it does not have a Squier logo, nor are there any marks or discolorations showing that there was one at one time. But the only information I can find online for that time period is about Squiers made in Korea.

My biggest question is I have a fundraiser coming up and since I don't play it, I'm wondering if would get more value out of selling it and using the money to get another prize, or if would be better as a prize? What is this thing worth in it's condition?

Thanks!

i done a bit of looking, and it would seem what you have is a korean squire that somebody has rubbed the squier logo off. i know you said you cant see any marks, but im 99.9% sure nothing has ever come from korea as a straight fender.

where it says deluxe series on the headstock at the end, yours should say squire in about the same place. my quick google shows its apparently quite easy to rub the decal off, removing any idea that the guitar is squire to the casual observer.

while googling, i saw people saying they were buying these for $100 at pawn shops, the korean squiers of the the time were pretty decent, relatively speaking. however, i really like the paint on yours, looks nice.

id buy it if i was any less than an ocean away.

They have held their value as I was buying these 10 years ago or maybe it was 12? Anyway, they were going for $100.000 to $125 back then. They are good players and if I were you I would keep it! Singers get more work if they play guitar

This is wrong . Just look into another thread here (the light Ash). Fender supplies this :

That means this is a Fender Strat MIK some time between -94 and -96.
Cheers
