American Deluxe Strat is not currently available in Candy Apple Red. Your only options are to find an older one used or go to the Custom Shop:

The link is for a V-Neck American Deluxe.

According to the current information in the product description section of the Fender website, the American Deluxe is available in 5 colors and unfortunately CAR is not among them.

Correct. I did not look at the V-Necks on the Fender website as CT Sean linked to. I only looked at the "regular" American Deluxes.

To answer the OP's question, you don't need to talk to anyone at Fender. You just find a dealer that sells the V-neck Deluxes and order from them.

I just bought a V Neck Deluxe only in 2 color SunBurst for 1499.00 new two weeks ago. Had my dealer order from Fender so I know it wasn't just collecting dust in his shop plus the serial number tells the story. They are fantastic! Just let your dealer know that you'll shop around for that price and they may drop 150.00 off the advertised price.

Great Guitar!!!!!

Oval and flat oval are the "C" shapes.

Just to add to Bill's post - I had a 2004 American Deluxe V-neck back in 2004 (had to be the "first on the block" to have one  ) and I found the neck on them back then to be closer to the shape of the early 50s soft V as show in the diagram but closer to the depth of the late '50s hard V.

To put it another way mine was the soft V shape but it was also the same depth as the typical C-shaped neck found on the other American Deluxes.

When I bought my classic 50's strat, I had never tried a guitar with a soft V- neck . I did not even know what it was all about - had not read anything about different models , was not too much into the Fender ''groove'' (yet  ) . But I realized I needed the Fender Stratocaster SOUND to my projects. So I went into this shop and tried out many models - but this classic 50's was begging to go home with me , even though I did not like the color (Fiesta Red) But it sounded the way I wanted it ,and - the neck was amazing !!! I figured it was a retro thing (not much help from sales-man) I later found out it was the soft V -neck. I recommend trying it . Think I might have developed a certain love for the different old neck-shapes.Got one tele with U-shape  Acquired another strat with soft V last winther , A Lite Ash. You might get an idea of the neck shape from this photo

I think that chart is pretty generic and that there are a number of subtle variations for each neck shape. It was the first one to come up when I did a search, though.

Same thing here, when i got the gibson learn and master guitar series, was told to get an electric especially for learning barres. Had no clue what to get so thru googling ( trinis have a thing on how something looks by the way ) i came accross the strat and loved its shape, went thru the colour and loved the candy red, so i ordered one, and had no clue until i got it. what is a strat, how it sounds or how it plays, the shape and colour, made it a done deal.
I could have gone gibson, prs, yamaha, les paul etc, but they just did not catch my eye.

I have a 2012 Eric Clapton "Blackie" and the 2012 Deluxe V Neck and they are the soft V shape. I also have a couple MIM Strats and a Tele that have C shape necks which I do like but the soft V is so comfortable in my hand. I really like the V over the C and with the Deluxe V neck the neck is stained a vintage tint. The Eric Clapton Strat has a maple neck that is white as snow which is very stark against the black Strat body. In my opinion (ya I know the old saying but) the soft V is the way to go. Try one if you can get your hands on one. I bet you'll like it!
