Hi isdi.

That's about the size of it.

Though I've a feeling it may be hard to get the lacquer off and the wood surface prepped right without damaging or losing the serial number. Something to think about if the SN seems important to you.

If you do decide to do it, an aerosol of polyurethane varnish is the tool for the job. That's what's on the neck at the moment.

Good luck - C

I think it is not that bad as long as you don't sweat on that part of the instrument. I had the same problem with an Ibanez, the neck varnish was going away, and the sweat was making the wood turn green. As long as you don't sweat on your guitar head it's gonna be ok :)

I would only sand the end of the peg head , where farnish peal , if you can . Not all the peg head.

It is probably a good guitar but mexican made are not like high end guitar.

I think that you will peel some off, then some more, then some more etc until the neck is bare.

It looks fine, people pay to have relic work.

Ok, merçi your advice guys, I do not know if this is specific to Mexican because I have a friend who collects old Strat U.S. and the paint is left on most sleeves, only the logo stays on!
At worst, it will make a relic!
