I have two Strats and a Tele. I prefer the Strats more, however....The Tele that I have is a Thinline. It's harder to play than the strat, but the semi-hollow body, and humbucker pickups give it such a wonderful sound. So I suffer through the harder playing. It's in the shop now....have a guy doing a set up on it, to make the playing much better.

It all depends on what you play. If you play heavier stuff or just basically everything in general, then you should go with the strat. The telecaster has that distinctive blues twangy sound that you can't get out of a strat, but the strat is better for everything (apart from twangy blues obviously)

The tele would certainly be a ton easier to maintain... no balancing acts... I think the idea of a hard tail would be really cool because you wouldn't have to worry about the pitch of other strings as you do bends and double stops, etc.

I'd go with the strat
