That one guy is quite grumpy. If you want the blues guitar of old time and new time greats, it is the Gibson ES-335. Buy it and you'll never need another. :D

I owned an '04 ES-335 and didn't like it much. I prefer the older ones made in the late 60s-70s.

I know that you want to get a quality instrument, but I really don't think that it's worth buying the Dlx Strat (or whatever it is that you are interested in). I've played the Road Worn Strats and they are just amazing for blues!

In the end it's all in your head and what you want as a player. It really doesn't matter what guitar you buy, just as long as you're happy with it.

I owned a $150 Vester ES-335 copy and it was a better guitar than my actual ES-335. I've own 3 Les Pauls and sold them all an in the bought a PRS McCarty.

I've own so many Strats and Teles that I've lost count. Each guitar serves it's own purpose. If I want a particular sound I do the following:

SRV sound I play my '79 Strat with Van Zant True Vintage pups.
Clapton ('80s sound, current sound or Cream) my EC Strat
Muddy Waters I use my Home built Andy Summers Tele.
Buddy Guy I use my 50th Anniversary Am. Std. Strat
It I was any of the Kings I go with my PRS

It all depends on my mood, but sadly enough I end up sounding like me.

Man.... I'm not seeing your problem here. I have 2 Martins D16M and a D15ME. I also have a '97 California Strat. Now I'm not opposed to having another axe or 3 but I don't have an issue of getting the sound I want from what I've got. Martins are my favorite accoustic and as for electric? What's not to love about Strat's? Amazing guitars! If you do decide on another, I recently played an HSS I think it was the Highway One.....SWEET. Good luck and enjoy your journey!

Seeing as the coin side of things does not seem to be a limiter.......Buy a limited edition Blues Jnr.... fender save on build cost with there standard amps buy putting cheaper speakers in them....The limited editions have the better speakers....the Jensen P15 is a great speaker for this amp i had it in a hot rod and its just so much sweeter than the standard one....I think in the BJ they also have eminence and texas heats....They look heaps sexier too......Eg.

Please do not laugh at me

wanting to persue my dream i plugged my mim strat into a boss eband, used a blues effect and dialed in a slowish blue sounding track, listened to it for a while and started playing the notes that i have learnt so far up and down the neck to suite the beat of the music and low and behold after doing that for about half an hour i had tears running down my eyes, i was sounding blussie

Laugh? Heck, I'll cry with ya. Great to hear you are finding what you seek. Glad to hear you are finding that it comes from you and not which guitar you're slinging.
