What's wrong with the guitar you have?

funny story
when i turned 50 i decided before i go, to finally learn to play a guitar.
so i got a seagull s6.
then i saw a red colour guitar being played on youtube, so i ordered one and it turned out to be a mim fender standard strat, i had no clue what a fender strat does, i just loved the color with the maple fretboard.
always loving blues music, i googled best guitar for blues, and fender strat comes out the most popular, but then there are so many different types of strats.
not having access to a shop that stocks many different types, i turn to you to help me in the right direction.

Like I said earlier: what's wrong with your current Strat? Why do you think you need a different guitar or a different Strat to play the Blues?

i have been having some volume issues with the high e string with the neck pickup, some days it plays soft and some days its ok

Blues is about a feeling, not a particular guitar. I play the Blues on a Fender MIM Standard Strat, a Fender AVRI 52 Telecaster, a Squier Esquire, an Epiphone Les Paul Jr, a Washburn Lyon, and an Ibanez GRGA. They all sound and play completely different from each other, but they all play the Blues just fine. Famous Blues guitarists have used all sorts of different guitars, from the cheapest Kay to the most expensive Gibson. i would suggest you learn more about playing the Blues and and quite worrying about what guitar to use.

I have seen your other thread. I can think of no reason other then a bad string why one string would play differently on one pickup compared to the other strings and pickups.

Historically, most of the early 'Delta' Blues were played on cheap, washboard accoutics played directly into a microphone - think Robt. Johnson - the kind of $7 Pawn Shop guitars a man making $200 a year could afford.

As the Blues moved North and West, it first encountered the Hollow-Body Electric - think B.B. King - a $30 Hollow-Body Gibson with no f-holes (which he named after a woman who was the source of a Bar Fight that caused a lit bucket of Kerosene to overturn, evacuating the RoadHouse and causing 2 deaths - Lucille) though he also played Fender Telecasters in the '70s and early '80s and then a Gibson ES-355. He later collaborated with Gibson to produce a modified ES-355TD-SV dubbed the ' Lucille '. The advantage of a ' closed ' Hollow-Body was supposedly a lack of feedback through the Amp.

Chicago and KC Blues started with F-holed Hollow-Bodies and morphed into Solid Body Guitars such as the Telecaster, the Les Paul (a closed Hollow-Body exception) and the Gibson SG because of a greater ability to amplify them in large Halls.

But, as has already been mentioned, the Blues is about feeling...

Remember, It's not the Wand... it's the Magician !!

The Guitar is just a tool.

Basically, if you can play any Guitar, along with maybe a Slide and Wah Pedal, you're gonna get the job done... and the Stratocaster is a very competent tool !

cheers!

Instead of showing off my collection to confuse you with "take your pick", I'd rather try to answer objectively:

There is no "right guitar" for blues, even though there are some certain guitars considered to be more kinda "traditional" blues guitars.

In the end it's a matter of "what kind of blues do I like and want to play?"
What sound do I want to achieve?

I play blues on each of my guitars (strats, Ibanez Jem, Ibanez RG, Republic resonator guitar, Baton Rouge acoustic, Gibson Firebird V.

If you like the sound and feel good playing your guitar, then do so without wondering what others might think about right or wrong.

It might help to make a choice if you decide, which star you like most.
It wouldn't make much sense to play acoustic blues songs (like from some early Mississippi blues stars) on an Ibanez Jem!

So: if you like acoustic blues, play acoustic and decide about the guitar by your taste of sound.
If you like guys like SRV, Rory Gallagher, Walter Trout .... it would be reasonable to get a strat type guitar to get closer to what they sound like.....or some other single coil equipped guitar (Mustang, Jazzmaster, non-Fender guitars).

Get the point?

It's not the guitar which makes blues what it is. It is you and your taste of sound....and your feelings you want to express.

I personally have just fallen in love with my Gibson Firebird V for playing blues, even though I've been a long time stratocaster fan (and still am!).
I just LOVE its blues tone. I presently use it for THE DOORS' "Roadhouse Blues"! It's totally different from what The Doors played those days but I just love it how this song sounds on the Firebird!

There is no right or wrong in music. If you like it, do it! Period!
After all, that's what the purpose of music is: express your feelings with the guitar and its voice the way YOU like it!

I would play death metal on a Hello Kitty strat or on a Spongebob strat, if the sound would blast me away.

Some old and beaten guitars have more Mojo and character than anything new.
It´s not always the Blues but -
