Post subject: volume help

while starting off today i realised my high e string volume was a lot softer than the other strings at the neck pickup, in the middle or bridge setting its about the same as the others
mim hss standard strat
whats doing this

raising the pick up was the first thing i thought of but that made no difference , its like a dead sound coming from that string only with the neck pick only

yesterday it played fine. and today it went back to its quiet sound

A bad string can cause odd things. I just changed strings on 2 guitars about a week ago. On one, the low E was dead. On the other, the G would not intonate. Strings are easy and cheap. You have nothing to lose.
