while starting off today i realised my high e string volume was a lot softer than the other strings at the neck pickup, in the middle or bridge setting its about the same as the others

raising the pick up was the first thing i thought of but that made no difference , its like a dead sound coming from that string only with the neck pick only

Either it's the nut or the saddle causing your problem. Check both very well.

thought about that but why only with the neck pickup position, same string with middle or bridge position

A bad string can cause odd things. I just changed strings on 2 guitars about a week ago. On one, the low E was dead. On the other, the G would not intonate. Strings are easy and cheap. You have nothing to lose.
