Hey all

Got into playing guitar about 9 years ago and got the basics down for about 2 years on a strat then slowly went into finger picking and folk/acoustic music and now all I play is acoustic guitar. I was looking into trading my strat in for a Martin or maybe even a Cole Clark. Its a Fender Deluxe Stratocaster American made. Its also the 50th anniversery edition. Tobacco sunburst and off white pick guard. It's in great shape but with a few chips on the bottom.

Not trying to sell it on here, just trying to find out what I could get for it.

Thanks.

You'll also need to know if you really have a special edition 50th Anniversay Amercian Deluxe or just a regular American Deluxe made in 2004 - they all got a neck plate with a "50th Anniversary of the Stratocaster" logo engraved on them. The special edition will have gold hardware and will also have that 50th Anniversary logo embossed on the pickguard (and a special case that also had that logo). They will go for a bit more than a regular American Deluxe from 2004.

Im going to say 900 to 1100 for a used Deluxe. If you sell it outright. If you trade it in on a new guitar expect about half.

You'll never get what you think its worth. Trade it to a shop, they'll give you about half what they'd sell it for. Sell it on ebay, you may get even less after shipping, Ebay, and paypal fees. Sell it on Craigslist, you're asking for a lowballers price. Put it in a consignment shop, they'll take 15%. Check Guitar Center's used gear section for a similiar guitar, price yours beneath it and advertise it for less. But I suggest you hang on to it. You'll never know when the Strat bug will bite you again and you'll miss it....
