I always wanted a contemporary strat and this one is at a good price (but the guy sanded the painted neck), but what's up with the back of this guitar, it's kind of sunk in? Anyone ever see something like this before?

He just sanded the back of the neck. I think the headstock came painted or the whole neck was painted. Looks like a nice guitar for the price.

yeah I'm talking about the back of the body, looks dipped in, maybe it's just a reflection?

Nope...Back of the body is scooped, not surprised it is a MIJ/CIJ guitar so the Fujigen factory did things a bit differently, more than likely I would guess this model did not sell well stateside and was mostly available in Japan or as a special import...   ( bit of Irony )

I'm puzzled about the bridge as there looks to be threaded ? holes in the rear of the bridge but the saddle adjustments are clearly visible as hex key screws...On the head past the nut the 2 holes there lead me to believe there was a string locking bar once upon a time, which then sort of tells me that this was a Floyd Rose or Kahler style trem by Fender... :?:

As far as the neck being sanded for what looks to be just less friction, not a concern, I would consider getting this as it's unusual and in pretty good shape.
I don't see any red flags to say No....

PS......BIG BIG ITEM .... DO NOT under any circumstance buy this guitar without buying a hardshell case to ship it in from the seller, I used to work at Fed-Exground and I assure you that you want a guitar inside a form fitting hardshell case and the case inside a shipping carton with padding.......If you PM me I'll give you my reasons..

yeah the bridge is a black System I, it's supposed to have fine tuners there, but people seem to lose them over time, or they get rid of the locking part on the neck, and take those out, which is probably the case here. I just never seen the body like that. Maybe they did that so the back plate wouldn't get caught on clothes, and people would leave the back plate on lol.
