I have been wanting to play guitar for 40 years and finally have the time and money to do it! I have been learning 6 months now and bought my first new Strat. It is a Mexican Standard, Candy Apple Red with a Maple Fretboard. I started with a Modern Player Telecaster Thinline Deluxe and really like the way it sounds and how light it is, but I always wanted a Strat. I bought this one online because I could not find a HSS this color anywhere within a 2 hour drive. This guitar came out of the box ready to play. It feels and sounds great, unfortunately, I will probably have to return it because the pickguard is warped or bent in line with the neck pickup Does anyone know how I can fix that bend or should I send it back?

Actually, it doesn't look warped. It looks like the neck pocket (in the pickguard) was not properly cut.

Since it was bought on line, and if it were mine and everything else was perfect, I would probably remove the pickguard and shave it down myself. IF that it what the problem is.

But, you paid good money for that Strat and you are entitled to a perfect instrument. Call the retailer and find out what they can do for you...
