How make Guitars are produced in a Fender FSR?
I recently bought a FSR American Standard Ash Hand Stained HSH ( Amber W/ Rosewood neck) Stratocaster and would like to know how many were produced in that run , I was told its around 145 guitars.
Another Issue, I think the Pickup configuration is very strange ,what do you think ?

Pickup Switching: 5-Position Blade:
Position 1. Bridge Pickup,
Position 2. Bridge and Middle Pickup,
Position 3. Middle Pickup,
Position 4. Middle and Neck Pickup,
Position 5. Neck Pickup
Controls: Master Volume, Tone 1. (Neck Pickup), Tone 2. (Bridge/Middle Pickup)

Any Idea why the Neck pickup would be in the 5th position and not in 1st like normal strat configuration ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :P big time Thanx !

This is pretty normal.

The first position from the 5-way switch selects the full bridge humbucker while the fifth the full neck humbucker, both in series.

do you mean the neck is in position 5 which is the position closest to the jack plate? And the bridge "position 1" is towards the guitar neck? If so it sounds like the switch is in upside down (though i don't know if that's actually possible)

Hi TheWhale,

The amount produced varies with each FSR.

On this FSR (the Stratocaster), there are 2 colors (Wine Red & Mahogany Stain)-- its set at 250 units globally in each color. So....even though they told me specifically there would be no math involved......looks like 500 total on the model to me.
The basses 150 globally of each color and the Tele also 250 globally of each color.

Hope that helps,
all the best,
rob

True - Fender has been numbering the 5-way in this direction (position 1 closest to the jackplate) for a while now. Some other companies number the 5-way the other way.

WIKI....Factory Special Run Series (FSR)
Throughout recent years Fender has issued limited run Stratocaster guitars under the model sub-classification of "FSR" or Factory Special Run. These guitars are often a guitar of one of the above models with special features such as limited finishes (special colors or "thin skin" lacquer), pickup options (configurations or pickup type), hardware options (gold), or trim options (plastics). Commonly these FSR instruments are built in the Mexico factories, but some have been built in the Corona, CA, USA factory.

Some of the confusion might be that some of the Fender diagrams have the switch positions labeled incorrectly, showing the bridge as position 5. :?

But, yes, position 1 is bridge.

Hey,Rob
I must say Thanx to all who helped answer my question !
Rob, I still have to clarify something about my FSR Strat that I purchased at Guitar Center last month, As you said that Guitar comes in 2 colors (Wine Red & Mahogany Stain) However Mine is Amber!
So the question is How many in that Run, I believe it was exclusive to Guitar Center.
(from Fender Factory ticket-GC FSR AM STD STRAT HSH RW AMB STN) bar code 0178100-720
2nd bar code- C0093152

8) Thank you again for all your help
