Hi everyone
I purchased an American dlx 2 weeks ago, and I've been playing it for a couple of hours every day since. In the beginning at was an absolute dream, but now its starting to develop som fret buzz on the lowest strings, all over the neck. Is this normal for a new guitar or could I get it sorted as warranty?
A professional setup cost about $200-300 (Norway), and thats a lot to spend on a $2000 (still Norway...) brand new guitar.

Welcome.

It could be normal as the guitar probably experienced several climate changes from the time it left California to the time it reached you in its final environment.

Fender does not warranty their factory setups. This is in part, due to the above reason where they surely cannot be held responsible for it. However, if you are fortunate, the store you bought it from may or may not give you a free (or reduced price) first setup, it all depends on the store's policy.

Or you could try adjusting your truss rod . Guess you've got the booklet with the instructions for that - anyways - here's a link : http://www.fender.com/en-NO/support/art ... etup-guide
OR -you can take a trip to Kristiansand Gitarfestival in the beginning of november . Fender are supposed to send in a couple of their best techs to help with setups :!: You find them on FB 8)

Being able to setup your own guitar is a must learn skill. You will thank yourself for it. Follow the Fender link asgeirman put down. Also there is some good setup videos on YT. Frudua probably has the best setup videos on there. Example:

WHOA! Aside from trying to learn to be a somewhat decent player from scratch at 42 1/2, I have been here reading everything I can trying to learn about my insturment and to take care of it myself. Very informative video and let me move on to a little bit more insightful comfort zone. Thanks!

Dan Erlewine has a book entitled "How to make your electric guitar play great." For about $20 US it is a very good book to have. Covers all types of electrics.

Thanks everyone:)
I bought me some feeler gauges, and I will have a go at it myself. Better than handing it over to that shady looking fella at the music store....
