It's my 1st Stratocaster ! I have wanted one for 40 years, as I love the guitar and we were both born in 1954 !

I played guitar very poorly when I was in High School... mainly because of a lack of dedication.

Fortunately, now retired, I decided to complete a little unfinished business and so bought this Sratocaster and an Epiphone Accoustic/Electric plus an Orange Crush Practice Amp for an incredible pkg. price at a small local Guitar Store (Fender Dealer). I was torn between this Strat and an Eric Johnson signature, but this one felt the best and I felt had a better tone, but what do I know.

My wife is 10 years younger and still working at a job which has 50% travel, she's home 2 weeks/gone two weeks. When she's away, I have nothing to do but eat, sleep, poop and spend endless hours with the guitar. I got these last Saturday and have already gone through the finger-hurting stage and learned 6 of the basic chords. Once I get these chords down smoothly, I will take some formal lessons as well.

Not planning any World Tours, but would like to become good enough to attend some Open Mike nights at some local music clubs - though I realize that's a few years away.

cheers!
