I like a 2-piece body with natural or sunburst.
With solid colors you can't see but i hope no more then 3-pieces.

not very sure
but my Fender Strat is made from poplar
my Pearl drums also made from poplar
and I am happy with their sound
there is something about poplar I guess
I had not heard of drums made from Alder
I read that Parker uses poplar often
however poplar does have different grades too

Maybe I'm crazy but all strats seem different to me.

Take 10 strats at random, ash or alder, some will simply sound and play better than the others!!!
