I love new guitar pics. I wonder what our wives think of us as we open a new guitar. My wife was napping when my 2012 American Standard was delivered. I woke her up and had her video tape the unboxing, the second unboxing (the Fender box was in a slightly larger ZZ Sounds box0 and the opening of the guitar case itself and inventorying the case candy and doing a once over of the guitar itself. All the while I was taking pictures.

She said I didn't make as much fuss when our kids were born.

Looks like a very nicely flamed neck. Lets see a pic of the back of the neck. Congrats

+1...Congrats...seems quite a few of the MIM Classic Series guitars have some flame on their necks...BONUS!

Art....I wonder how close that charcoal frost is to Clapton's EC Gray [ Ferrari's grigio silverstone] The other thing that catches my eye is the bleached maple neck which is usually lightly tinted on the American Standards if I have my facts correct. [It has been pointed out elswhere, by Alain, that light will cause the bleached maple necks to yellow over time]
All things being equal, that beautiful guitar is what Mike Eldred would call a snapshot version of the of the look of the LTD Clapton, as far as this old man is concerned. :?

Well, if it helps. all of these are the same guitar, just different light and cameras.

this is a FCS Pewter 62 NOS Jag. Basically, I wanted a colour that the 62 AVRI was not offered in. So I not only got a cool colour but the CS treatment as well.

Depending on the light, and who is looking, this looks like pewter or Charcoal Frost, or....

.....lighting nothwithstanding, I think the Charcoal Frost looks a bit 'bluer'...not as 'steely' as the Pewter. Yours should have had a matching headstock, black pup covers and trem handle tip to coordinate with the pot knobs.

Yes, charcoal frost always seemed a bit bluish to me. You might even get to see this one but I don't take her out too often.

Likely won't have to haul a guitar with you first time out.

LOL, have to find the place first. And I need to pick up a guitar every evening (time permitting) or I get rusty. (better me than the guitar I guess.)

I was actually surprised how "blue" the charcoal frost is on my American Standard.
The Fender.com pic seems to me to be a bit more on the gunmetal blue side. That being said, I love the color.
