The pot code are where is soderd XXX 1215 or 7215 ?

Probably a CTS = 137 7215

if you are sure is a '70 guitar, 72 is the year and 15 is the 15th week

This make sense for you ?

The guitar is actually between and 68 and 70 the neck date is 22 22 018 B which actually puts it more toward a 68 the actual neck plate puts it at the same 68 to 70. The pots look like CTS in every way it would be nice to be able to identify who the heck made them. And the solder joints though out the guitar are untouched. I am the second owner this guitar. the first had it since new. O and the string I have seen that used for grounding several times sometimes its what was handy. anyway thanks for trying maybe we will solve this and looks like no else has seen them either. Attached is another picture of the tone pot.

I'm sure guitar is not untouched , pots have some new solder . Guitar string are not factory standard.

Fender alway use CTS pot

If your pot have xxx 1245 on it and not 7245 I don't know wich year they are.

Some sell old pots and put replacement on the guitar .

Ok lets assume for the moment your right that still does not answer the question as to who made the pots they look exactly like CTS.

I am pretty sure these are later CTS(?), somewhere around 78-82.
The older ones (like 68-73) used the two copper rivets to clamp the contacts to the housing.
The different number is maybe because these are CTS pots used for amps.
I am not sure, it´s just a guess.

Cheers,
Robin

Apparently whoever made these pots is not in business otherwise they would be easily tracked and all of us would have heard or seen at some point I am not sure about anyone else but I have personally had Fender original strats ranging from 1962 all the way though 2012 AV 59 and I recall seeing something in another strat years and years ago but can not place them. wondering if the folks at Fender may know or if anyone has a contact or someone that I can contact> Heres the final picture of the volume pot and it looks like an R1215 / FA5944 Thanks

Heres a follow-up check ebay there is a set of 137 69 CTS that are exactly like mine under this exact heading not all had the copper dots and also a set of 1970. I am thinking my are CTS without the standard 137 coding. check it out.
