Hey Amigo I am not picking on you at all with this post just trying to help and give the best advice that I know how about getting started with this new guitar. You seem to be all over the place here so this might be the best solution for you at the cost of less than ten bucks. Take your guitar back to the store you got it from or any other local music shop that’s close by. Ask to buy a set of strings of your choice, I think you said you like ernie ball’s, they are a good string. While paying for them tell that person that these will be different strings than the ones the guitar came with and ask if you could get a little help getting them on the guitar and ask if you could watch or help. Most respectable businesses will see you as a paying customer and be glad to help. At that time let them know all the questions you have. It’s gonna take a few minutes to re-string a guitar so he/she will have time to answer. They may also see you as a future sale and any good salesman will ask you what your needs are in order to sell you a good product. In return you should both get something out of it and will probably be able to return here with some tech secrets of your own. So pay attention to what the person at the music store does while he changes the strings. You might be able to help some of us if we have a question. I’ve been playing guitar for 19 years as of next Tuesday and this little trick has worked for me every time I had a question or issue before this forum came along. Good Luck.

Good advice, Stephenr. I think that he's very new to a strat and is just trying to get help. I've seen a lot of people in this forum trying to help him, and I'm sure in the end.........people in here will help him, and it'll all work out in the end.
