What's really funny is when sellers of house brand stuff (i.e. Guitar Fetish) put an MSRP on the items, as if you could get them anywhere else.

Doc is on the money as usual and no Doc nothing has changed lol. Anyone with a few years of experience buying gear knows MSRP is no where near the street price and dealers are given a price they are supposed to not go below, but for the sake of staying in business many do! When you see a seller selling a bunch of the same model CS Strats listed as NOS on Ebay for 1K less then you can get at GC you dont think they fell off a truck- they are dealers!

It makes no sense to me why Fender would advertise a higher price than the street price on their website. Somebody might go to the Fender website, wanting a Standard Tele or Strat and see the $700 price tag. They only have $500, so they end up with a Vintage Modified. The MSRP is a silly outdated idea that should be done away with.

Just so you'll think you're saving money. Classic marketing campaign
