I did not do anything

Where did you hear of this?
I try to smooth out my Strat necks.
Hopefully the "new" finish is good & smooth and not sticky & slow.

Oh, good. Improvements are welcome.
Less sanding on the backside.

fmic ( fender musical instrument corporation)

lacquer from 1950's start to show wear ( i was told by some that owned guitar from that period) in 2 weeks if you play often

reverse-engeeniring = analysis of the old lacquer and replicate the original formula

Figuring out lacquer from the 1950s seems like real fun.
The goal is to use 1950s finishes?

Was/is the 1950s lacquer better than todays product?
Or offer different features?

Due to certain banned chemicals I doubt that Fender can use these 50's era lacquer's.
If I remember correctly the chemicals added to a lacquer to speed up the curing process were extremely toxic.....Thus why they are banned.

Most spray on finishes used today are water based...

imagin the contact going on with toxic guitars.

Where did the initial information that new lacquer is forthcoming, come from?
A press release?
A rumour?
