Hi. I'm looking to purchase a Fender American deluxe hss strat in sunset metallic.

When looking on the fender site out of all the American deluxe hss colors the sunset metallic ones have a string tree.

On some reseller sites it shows no string tree.

I don't want a string tree. Is the fender site correct. If yes why would only this color get the string tree?

Thanks.

MIA Deluxe HSS Strats do not need string trees because of the LSR Roller Nut, same case for the Sunset Metallic (RW and MN) models, check out this picture!

@Brad

It's definitely not normal for an American Deluxe HSS to have the Easyglider string guide together with the LSR nut, Fender should remove the pictures from the Sunset Metallic Burst HSS and replace them with newer ones showing the exact specs for the guitar!

This is a bit of a zombie thread, but I suspect the guitar jippyjun linked from Fender's website is a photoshopped guitar - they probably shot an SSS American Deluxe in that color - which would have a string tree - and photoshopped in the HSS pickguard and the LSR nut but didn't erase the string tree.

I'd be surprised if they were even actual guitars at all. It is so much easier, and more efficient, to do it with virtual guitars. There are so many variations that photographing each one accurately enough that you could potentially swap layers in photoshop would be a right pain.
