Just purchased on ebay. Plan on replacing the pickups. What pickups do you all think would fit the theme (Mans Ruin old school tatoos) of this guitar? Is it time to dig out the snake skin cowboy boots?

Is there a difference between the Texas Specials found on production guitars and the "Custom shop Texas Specials" referenced above?

I think Seymour Duncan makes Lipsticks for a strat. What do they sound like?

Mine are GFS Pro-Tubes. Clear, Loud, Chimey. A good vintage surf sound. Fantastic with overdrive. The HB is awesome.

I think I'm right in saying that what you term the Custom Shop Texas Specials (officially called 'Master Design') are just slightly hotter that the standard Texas Specials, but otherwise pretty similar. I have them in my 2011 CS Custom Deluxe Strat and love them to bits :-)

You got a Fender Part number for those Master Design pickups? Fender only lists the Custom Shop Texas Specials one time and no Designation of Master Design.

By the way to the OP...Custom Shop Texas Specials all the way, that guitar needs some "Honk" to go with the carving!
