I'm calling BS on this one - I think it's a typical 1997 American Standard with a faked Fender Custom Shop certificate. I can recall seeing blank Fender CS Cerfiticates on eBay before so it would be easy to get one and fake a cerficate for your guitar. Fender CS of course has done models based on the American Standard in the past - I think they were called "Custom Classics" or "Custom Americans" or something like that BUT they would clearly have the Fender CS logo on the back of the headstock and would have a CS serial number on the neck plate instead of having a standard Fender serial number like this guitar.
