G'day Brett, welcome to the forum from downunder.
I don't mind a bit of relicing on an inexpensive guitar. It takes a certain sense of humor.
I have guitars with beautiful finishes that I would never touch, but for now ....

I think it looks kinda cool. To each his/her own. The OP thinks it's a keeper so it's all good.

Welcome to the Forum. I not much into reliced guitars, but that is one of most tastefully done ones I have seen in a while. Enjoy.

Yep...There was no need for what you posted, especially the last part.....
in addition you're a Newbie, not cool to be rude when you just joined the party.

Some of us have been here a little while and it's Not OK for us either for that kind of comment, other's have been here much longer and they just don't post if it's something they feel isn't their bag...

Art is Art, not Math. very personal. It's like the opposite sex, initially it is always about the physical attraction, same with guitars. Then after you get up close and personal the guitars other features has to win you over, or its on to the next blonde, I mean guitar. I like it when people go out on a ledge and try something different, no rules here, and if you strap it on and you feel good about the way you look and sound, its a winner for you. Nice job!

Not a bad job, it's different, which is what counts....
I'm also not a fan of the relic by artificial means, but to each their own. I prefer the reliced over time method....
You know that first ding feels like stubbing your toe in the middle of the night, then the other's hurt a little less each time......

Screw it with the Relic chat and just say it is "used and abused", if you must.
No explanation needed.

Personally, I think it looks good, cool and fun and is a great converstion piece.

Agree. Easy to mess with and have fun with "MOST" post 1990 guitars.
Make 'em as you Like 'em.
Love 'em and Leave 'em for your grandkids to figure out what the heck it is.
Might be worth something someday if you continue to Les Paulize your Partscaster.

I can stand the heat I have been doing relic work for 10 years, you should see the bashing when I was approached to relic a Sadowsky Bass.

Anyways here is a couple pics with the new pickguard.

That was a white single ply with a bevel. I removed the bevel and aged it myself.
